Novatel Wireless - Instant 3G Wifi router

Novatel Wireless has introduced a new innovation in wireless data with the Mifi - a pocket-sized instant Wifi router.

The data connection is provided by the internal 3G/HSDPA data device and generates a secure Wifi hotspot - unlike other existing 3G/wifi routers this device is also battery powered (up to 4 hours use) so a wifi hotspot can be created anywhere you take it - or even on the move in vehicles (though we would not recommend trying this on a plane).

An instant wifi hotspot allows you to connect your multiple devices (e.g. laptop/pda/ipod etc) and connect and share one data connection - use just for yourself or share with colleagues etc.

Release date - 1st/2nd quarter 2009.
